This is a lecture only workshop that runs from 10am-2:30pm, with a 1 hour break for lunch.

Topics covered include:
- When it is appropriate to use a confocal microscope
- The confocal principle (or, how confocal works)
- Design of laser scanning and fast scanning (e.g., spinning disk) confocals
- How to properly use illumination, scanning, and detection settings in software
- Quantitative comparision of laser scanning and spinning disk confocal, with guidelines on when to use each
NIC@HMS Workshop Registration Cancellation Policy: If you register for an NIC@HMS workshop and find you cannot attend, you must cancel your registration within 48 hours of the workshop. If you are registered for an NIC@HMS workshop and do not attend, you will not be allowed to register in future NIC@HMS workshops and your registration in any future NIC@HMS workshops will be cancelled.
