Description

This is a lecture only workshop that runs from 10am-2:30pm, with a 1 hour break for lunch.

  • Lecturers: Talley Lambert, Ph.D., Research Associate & Jennifer Waters, Ph.D., Microscopy Director

Topics covered include:

  • When it is appropriate to use a confocal microscope
  • The confocal principle (or, how confocal works)
  • Design of laser scanning and fast scanning (e.g., spinning disk) confocals
  • How to properly use illumination, scanning, and detection settings in software
  • Quantitative comparision of laser scanning and spinning disk confocal, with guidelines on when to use each


NIC@HMS Workshop Registration Cancellation Policy: If you register for an NIC@HMS workshop and find you cannot attend, you must cancel your registration within 48 hours of the workshop.
